Code of Honour
Our Code of Honour
Do useful work. Be clear. Keep our word. Treat people fairly.
Moka Inspire is built on the belief that the way technology work is delivered matters as much as the technology itself. These principles are the standard we aim to work by.
Our Principles
Understand before prescribing
We learn the business problem, constraints and context before recommending a solution.
Make trade-offs visible
Technology decisions involve cost, risk, speed, security and maintainability. We explain the important trade-offs rather than hiding them behind certainty.
Do not create work for the sake of billing
If a smaller solution is enough, we will say so. If we are not the right fit, we will say that too.
Take responsibility for quality
Recommendations should be actionable. Software should be built with appropriate care. Important risks should be raised rather than passed forward silently.
Communicate early
Scope changes, blockers, risks and mistakes are raised as early as possible.
Respect client ownership
Our work should leave a client better informed and better able to operate, not trapped behind avoidable complexity.
Scope and price fairly
We use focused, timeboxed engagements to create clear expectations and reduce unnecessary commitment.
Leave things better
That applies to code, architecture, documentation, team understanding and working relationships.
Build responsibly
Security, privacy, maintainability and the consequences of technology are part of good engineering.
Small does not mean unimportant
A small business deserves professionalism and respect just as much as a large organisation.
